The American Red Cross has been giving Americans the knowledge and skills to save lives for more than a century. From First Aid and CPR to lifeguarding, children’s safety and more, the Red Cross helps people lead safer, healthier lives at home, at work and at leisure. Today’s innovative programs include teaching professionals and lay persons automated external defibrillatore (AED’s) to save victims of cardiac arrest. Every year, more than 6,000 in our area enroll in the Mountain Empire Chapter’s health and safety classes and go on to save lives.
