Whether it’s a single-family house fire or a devastating tornado, the Red Cross is there.  Last year, the Mountain Empire Chapter helped over 170 families in Southwest Virginia and Northeast TN rebuild their lives after losing their homes to disasters.

The Chapter has teams of volunteers in each county of the Chapter’s jurisdiction to better respond to the needs of our residents.   These volunteers meet individually with those who have had disasters to address their nees.  Generally, the Red Cross helps with immediate disaster-caused needs experienced within the first few days or weeks of a disaster.
